Other activities include one-day school, The Children’s Imagination Academy; a no-fees horticultural school for those looking to gain employment; and various counsellor and mediation services. Adjacent to the main house, Avebury Workshop is a space for those wanting help to work on DIY projects.
The enchanting garden-like environment continues to serve as a versatile and affordable venue space for memorable public and private events, including weddings, birthday parties, memorial dinners, and community events.
Another beautiful aspect of Avebury House is its kitchen, which serves as a workshop space for the Richmond Community Garden and hosts groups such as Recreate, which empowers individuals with intellectual disabilities. Throughout the year, Avebury House celebrates and runs events and festivals that bring the community together, including seasonal fairs, Matariki celebrations, a family-oriented Teddy Bears’ Picnic, Anzac commemorations, and a Christmas market.
