Profile
Orana Wildlife Park – Where Conservation Comes Alive!
Step into a world where amazing wildlife, education and conservation collide! Every visit is a chance to connect with nature, meet some incredible animals and create memories that last a lifetime. Learn about native and exotic wildlife and how you can protect their wild cousins, at our daily animal presentations, close encounters or through our educational programmes.
Your visit is helping us to continue important conservation work, for some of New Zealand’s most threatened native animals. We work with the Department of Conservation, on captive component of the recovery programme for whio (blue duck), pāteke (brown teal), kākāriki karaka (orange-fronted parakeet), kiwi and more!
Our park grounds offer a safe breeding ground for over 50 native species, including endangered locals like the Canterbury spotted skink and kōwaro (Canterbury mudfish).
By visiting, you’re helping us continue vital conservation work that makes a real difference.
